The Birth Story:
(I went into preterm labor at 34 weeks. I did such a good job at taking it easy that she decided to stay in until 38.5 weeks.)
I started having intense contractions every hour Friday night. Saturday morning they were about half an hour apart. Saturday evening I was pretty uncomfortable, contracting every 10 to 15 minutes. Darin was called out to work... of course! By 2 am I was really hurting. I called Darin to tell him it was time to go. Fortunately he was on his way home. Yay! I called my midwife to tell her I was going in. Then I called my friend to come stay with the girlies.
The nurse checked me at the hospital and I was dilated 3cm and 60% effaced. They had me walk around for an hour and then checked me again. I was still 3 cm. They told me I had to go home because there was no change. I begged the nurse to let me stay and walk one more time for an hour. So Darin and I did just that.... and I did some deep squatting and hip swaying during every contraction to get Baby girl in place. It hurt so bad, and I know I looked like a fool, but it totally worked! The nurse checked me a 3rd time and I was dilated to 4 cm. I was admitted, given an epidural and all set to go. My midwife arrived and started me on pitocin. The epidural had slowed the contractions. She checked me an hour later and I was 6cm and 80% effaced. Another hour had gone by and she came in to check me again. She lifted the sheet and found the baby crowning! She ripped the lower half of the bed away and threw my legs into the stirrups and told me not to push at all. She quickly put gloves on and told me to push. I took a deep breath and started pushing.... then my midwife told me to stop because baby girl was coming out plenty fast on her own. Then Khloee Mae was here!!! All beautiful 8 lbs 130z, and 21.5 inches of her!
I love that perfect moment when Darin and I finally get to see our sweet baby and hold her. There is nothing like it!!!
Khloee was very kind to her mommy. My recovery has been amazing and I feel pretty good... and extremely exhausted. We all enjoy having Baby Khloee around too.

Congratulations, girlie. You look gorgeous! And to have three little beauties - how lucky you are! I'm so glad your delivery went well. I hope you can get some rest soon. You know, like when she's a year old. That's all I can hope for over here. :)
