It's the most wonderful time of the year!

We had our Christmas program today at church. It was absolutely wonderful. My heart is so full. I am so thankful for the Savior, Jesus Christ. Because of His sacrifice and His example, we can return to live with our Heavenly Father. What an incredible gift that is. I am so thankful for the men, women and children who participated in the Christmas program today. It truly was beautiful.

On to more wonderful things... I love this month's visiting teaching message. Below is just a small portion of it, but it says so much.

"In the end, the number of prayers we say may contribute to our happiness, but the number of prayers we answer may be of even greater importance. Let us open our eyes and see the heavy hearts, notice the loneliness and despair; let us feel the silent prayers of others around us, and let us be an instrument in the hands of the Lord to answer those prayers. "
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency.

One Christmas (when I was little) I remember my mom asking us to give a gift to the Savior for Christmas. She told us it had to be something we would promise to do the whole next year. For instance, we would promise to be honest, or we promised to be kind to every one... that sort of thing. Well, I decided to do that this year. My gift to the Savior for this coming year is a promise to be an instrument in His hands "to answer those prayers." I can do so much more in my services to others and in my callings. I can also do so much more to strengthen my testimony so that I am good and ready when the Lord needs me. I love Christmas and all that it entails! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!
